90 Days of Summer

June 21, 2011
The first day of summer of this amazing year.
I'm diving into God's Word for this summer season and reading the entire "good book" in 90 days.  A season is only 90 days long, getting His Word into my heart in a good "firehose" method is already a big blessing!

Your WORD have I hid in my heart, that I will not sin against Thee.
I want it hiding there, established there, putting down roots and growing an arbor of oak tree knowledge across the landscape of my life!

Once again I was looking at my granddaughter Evie and thinking about how Jesus laid down His life for her, that little precious one - born with the nature that echoes, "GIVE ME A SAVIOR!"  I pray she and the the two, perfect darlings - Emily & Luke, whom I love SO much will grow to have His Word hid in their hearts too. The innocence of their young lives and adventurous hearts to just look ahead and wonder, "what's next?" It's ALL ahead of them.  Lord guard and protect every single step.

Well, you and I don't have such young hearts ... yet the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases and His mercies never come to an end. They are NEW every morning. Great is His faithfulness.  I see the new mercies of the Lord in the shouts and whispers of His Word as I traverse the words that are light and life. My heart swells with acknowledgement that His way is right, good and everlasting in it's greatness.

I look forward to tomorrow's read!
Summer is off to a sunny heart around Seattle and in my heart. Warmed by His love. Fueled by His truth.

Reflecting HIS image

Symmetry - what I think I want with God.
Asymmetry - where I sense I am.

File:Asymmetric (PSF).png

Yet... is symmetry even the "right" or perfect design of what He proposes... for the time being?

This leads me to the consideration of chirality. To describe that without bringing chemistry into it (see Troy Daiber for such) Human hands are an example of chirality: The left hand is a non-superimposable mirror image of the right hand; no matter how the two hands are oriented, it is impossible for all the major features of both hands to coincide. SO many similarities and mirrored sameness; yet an impossibility to have all characteristics match directly.

... "non-superimposable of it's mirror image" ...

"But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." - 2 Cor. 3:18

Aha Moment ?!!?  It is non-superimposable to reflect the mirror image of Christ.
The key point in this is digging into the meaning of: non-superimposable.

Re Christ:  Hebrews 1:3 - "The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation (image/reflection) of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven."

Re Believers: Colossians 3:10 - "and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator."

The new self  is the gift of being a redeemed one; given new birth (John 3:7, 2 Cor 5:21) and the only way to enter into ANY everlasting symmetry with God.  You and I cannot superimpose anything into that.  It's absolutely ALL through Christ's work to give us grace, liberty and access to God; filling us with the Holy Spirit that we reflect the new self which is, Him within us!

{!!Titus, chapters 2 & 3 certainly a good insert for reading, contemplating here!!}

The current dimly glass view = the asymmetric relationship, while given aspects of grace-equipped symmetry with the chirality of glory to glory! When a child is born he is helpless. He is allowed to do things he will not be allowed to do as he grows up. Within that child, though, there is also an innate desire for certain things, like the ability to communicate and to walk. That desire to walk does not mean he will immediately begin walking one day, nor does it mean that when he learns to walk he will never stumble. It does mean that he has a nature that causes him to desire normal mobility and to train himself for it. Such is the Christian life. The new nature of Christ in the believer calls him to press on toward the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3.12-14). - Timothy T. Faber, Doctorate Thesis, Liberty University, 2008

Non-superimposable. My pressing on is out of the nature of grace's expression; blossomed love in which He equips me in His strength. I do not look at my good works or "glory to glory" nor even the awesomeness of transformation as my obedience increases - thus imposing it as the reflection seen as His image.  HE ALONE IN ME accomplishing this good work is the image of Himself! He reflects His glory in me.

God IS holy.
I am being made holy.

No wonder I sense I'm in an asymmetric relationship. In this image of which I'm created and restored, there is likeness, yet not! ... And yet, the symmetry that RESTORES MY SOUL is ever so making me like Him! The wonder of sharing closeness, unity and unrelenting love.

Psalm 23:1-3
1 The LORD is my shepherd;
         I shall not want.
 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
         He leads me beside the still waters.
 3 He restores my soul;
         He leads me in the paths of righteousness
         For His name’s sake
